REM 2010

REM [r(apid) e(ye) m(ovement)]

-paradoxical sleep: a recurring sleep state during which dreaming occurs; a state of rapidly shifting eye movements during sleep. A natural and periodic state of rest during which consciousness of the world is suspended.

REM 2010 is an exciting multi-media experience that takes the viewer on a dream-like journey.   Proceeds from the event will benefit mental health associations and awareness.

This project explores mental states of being such as; joy, confusion, love, depression, anxiety, elation, and fear.  The audience is transported, becoming part of the experience by being both voyeur and participant.

Live music, dance and photography intersect with a virtual world of film, animation, still images, and haunting underwater photography projected onto 7 giant screens.  At times, it is the audience themselves who are photographed and recorded becoming part of the event.

REM also seeks to explore the world of the dreamer where anything is possible and the  only limit is imagination itself.

This event will benefit CAMH, center for mental health and addiction.
